Certainly Wood open day demonstrates source of quality wood
June 2007
Certainly Wood, specialists in sustainable, kiln-dried log packs for burning in heating stoves, held two open days at their headquarters near Madley, Herefordshire on 29/30th June. The open days were arranged to demonstrate to Certainly Wood’s 150+ stove showroom customers how the logs it sells are cut, split and dried to create the high heat output fuel that has become so popular with showrooms and customers alike.
The Open Day started at a local, sustainable, woodland plantation where the visitors saw oak and ash felled as thinnings to allow space for the other trees in the plantation. The wood from this and other local estates are delivered daily to Certainly Wood where the logs are cut, split and placed in open cages under cover to dry down to a moisture content of 35%. When this has been achieved the cages are placed in Certainly Wood’s unique drying kiln which further reduces the moisture content to a range between 20 - 25%.
Certainly Wood’s Super Dry, High Energy logs and kindling supplied in convenient, clean and attractive packs are delivered to retailers by the pallet. Selling these bags from
your showroom not only provides wood fuel that you can rely on but as a service, it also ensures that customers regularly revisit your showroom giving them the chance to
see new products and accessories.
As Marketing Director, Nic Snell, explains “The popularity of woodburning stoves, caused by soaring energy prices, has led to a demand for quality firewood. To meet this we
quality-test our wood at every stage of the drying process to ensure that customers get the right quality every time. Our Super Dry log packs mean that users need less wood to provide the same heat which saves cost, space and CO2 emissions. More importantly, using our kiln-dried wood ensures that a stove burns the correct quality of fuel, avoiding one of the biggest causes of stove problems. The customer really does win in every way”.
Certainly Wood’s new web site will soon show customers the address of their local stockists and details of the UK’s leading UK’s stove manufacturers who recommend Certainly Wood and already place a customised leaflet within each stove that they sell. This will ensure that all leads are fed back to local retailers.
