Firewood Facts

In order to provide you with the best wood, we chop the wood and store it in our barns for several months and then just to make sure the logs are really dry we put them in our fantastic drying machine!

We take all the excess moisture out for you, which means you only burn the wood and its wood resins i.e. the best bit, which gives you all the heat and means you use less wood.

It also means you don't waste energy in burning off all the excess moisture.

Firewood

Certainly Wood firewood logs, either seasoned or kiln dried can be delivered nationwide, so there are very few places we cannot get to.

National Deliveries

Nationally we can deliver by the pallet (80 bags) or bulk bags direct to your home via a number of our stove retailers or you can purchase smaller quantities from any of our retailers nationwide. See our 'Retailers' page to locate your nearest stockist.

Local Deliveries

Around Herefordshire, kiln dried logs can be purchased in small bags from a number of local garages or if you require bulk deliveries of either seasoned or kiln dried logs these are supplied in bulk bags by the cubic metre. We don't sell by weight as our logs are not heavy - we have taken most of the water out for you!

Why not stock up for winter. The more bags you order per delivery the more money you save.

Types of Firewood

Unlike many other logs sold in nets, all our wood is hardwood, i.e. from trees that lose their leaves in the winter, such as oak.

Softwoods, (conifers) which we do not sell include spruce and pine and these burn much faster than hardwoods and have a tendency to spit and crackle.

Ash, Oak and Beech - only hardwoods and all kiln dried.

  • Ash - The King of firewood. Produces both heat and bright flame - our favourite.
  • Oak - Very dense so difficult to dry. Burns very slowly and gives off lots of heat.
  • Beech - Produces good flame and heat. Has a tendency to spark.
