All our kindling is boxed and made from poplar hardwood - the wood of the match industry
It is taken from our own woodlands, from natural woodland management thinnings

Ideal for lighting open fires, multi-fuel stoves, barbeques and fire pits
We've been working with farmers and landowners for the last fifteen years and we now grow over 1300 hectares of poplar - that's about 1.5 million trees.
Every year we plant more trees and in a typical year we will plant about 100,000 poplar trees.
For every tree we cut down, we plant five more, and our kindling wood is made from smaller trees that are felled to make room for the other trees to have more light and grow bigger - so basically its part of the natural management of sustainable woodland.
Here's a staggering fact - Each hectare of poplar will absorb up to 10 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.
