Cook: about 5 minutes



Give the chestnuts a good rinse to wash off any remaining dirt. This will help soften the shells for alter on and reduce the charring on the surface as they roast.
Cut a little X in the shell of the chestnut to let out the steam as they cook. This will keep them from literally exploding and popping too much.
Cook on a high, intense heat to make them sweet and wonderful.
