What is the main difference between the great value & premium range?

The main difference between the two ranges is the burn quality. The great value firewood is 100% silver birch, which is a very easy hardwood to light & burn, but it does burn quicker compared to denser hardwoods such as ash & oak.

Because of this, the great value range is less expensive than the premium range but when used in combination with species like oak, it can provide the perfect burn: easy to light, long lasting and smoke free.

Is the Great Value Range kiln-dried and Ready to Burn certified?

Yes, the Great Value Range is Ready to Burn approved and dried to below 20% moisture content.

Is this range suitable for use in wood-burning stoves, open fires, or pizza ovens?

Yes, the Great Value Range is perfectly suitable for wood-burning stoves and open fires. The kiln-dried silver birch logs offer a quick, bright burn, making them ideal for getting fires going quickly -especially during milder weather or for occasional use.

Does the Great Value firewood burn as long and hot as the premium logs?

The Great Value firewood burns well but not for as long or as hot as our premium logs.

It’s contains kiln-dried silver birch, a lighter hardwood that catches quickly and gives a lively flame, ideal for shorter fires or quick heat. In contrast, our premium logs (such as oak or ash) are denser, so they burn more slowly and release more heat over a longer period. Oak, however, can be much harder to burn and will perform best when combined with species such as birch.
