Why choose Certainly Wood for delivery to Birmingham?
Because we are local suppliers sourcing all our British firewood from a radius of 100 miles from our base in Herefordshire. We are the pioneers of kiln drying firewood and have been doing so since 2005. We supply in a range of bulk bag sizes from 0.8m3 to 1.6m3. If you live in the city area with more difficult property access then we highly recommend you consider purchasing your logs in our small bags, either on pallets of 30, 50 or 80. Bags are often easier to handle than having to loose fill into a wheelbarrow or box to carry to your house.
Our bulk deliveries are all free across the region and we deliver to other areas of Birmingham such as Edgbaston, Erdington, Harborne and Solihull to mention but a few.
If you have a woodburning stove, then kiln dried logs which are ‘ready to burn’ approved are a must, particularly as the government from 2021 is introducing legislation to ensure people can only buy firewood that is approved which guarantees the firewood is below 20% moisture content. This will not only ensure maximum heat output, but minimise particulate emissions (smoke) from your chimney. Birmingham is a smoke controlled area and so you can only burn kiln dried logs if on a ‘Defra Exempt’ appliance or one that is registered under the new clearSkies accreditation scheme above Level 2.
All of the logs supplied by Certainly Wood are below 20% moisture content having been dried in their unique wood fired drying kilns which remove most of the moisture from the logs within less than 60 hours. The kilns run on wood waste and much of the electricity is produced from the solar panels.
There are many other kiln dried firewood supplies in the Birmingham area but it is important that you consider ‘log miles’ and avoid buying from Eastern Europe. If the logs are stacked in crates and are of the silver birch or alder species, then most probably the wood is imported. Certainly Wood are members of the Grown in Britain scheme as all their firewood is sourced from sustainable British woodland.
