What are KindleFlamers, and are they the best firelighters?
Updated: Nic SnellShare
KindleFlamers are natural and odourless firelighters made from wood wool. Designed to make lighting fires quick, clean and easy, they eliminate the need for kindling. If you’ve ever struggled to get a fire going, you’ll know how frustrating traditional methods can be. KindleFlamers simplify the process, offering a reliable, low-effort way to light fires in wood burners, open fires, and outdoor setups. Here’s why we think they’re the best firelighters for any home.
KindleFlamers Explained (Quick Summary)
- KindleFlamers are 17cm long natural firelighters made from wood wool
- They eliminate the need for kindling
- They’re odourless and free from harsh chemicals
- Only one per fire is required
- They’re suitable for stoves, open fires, BBQs, chimineas, firepits and pizza ovens

What makes KindleFlamers different to other firelighters?
KindleFlamers combine kindling and a firelighter into one simple product. Unlike traditional firelighting methods, KindleFlamers eliminate the need for kindling altogether. Their size and structure allow them to burn long enough to ignite logs or charcoal effectively.
They’re made from natural wood wool dipped into wax, making them a cleaner, more environmentally conscious choice than chemical-based alternatives. Unlike other options, KindleFlamers are also completely odourless, making them a good choice for outdoor cooking. Convenient and versatile, they’re suitable for:
- Wood-burning stoves
- Open fires
- Chimineas and firepits
- Charcoal BBQs
- Pizza ovens
- Campfires
Are KindleFlamers cost-effective?
KindleFlamers are a cost-effective way to light fires because they reduce the need for additional materials like kindling. Compared to using smaller firelighters and kindling, our extra long KindleFlamers can lower the cost per fire, while simplifying the process. They also save time and effort, making them a practical option for regular fire users.

How do you use KindleFlamers?
Log Fires:
Here’s how to light a log fire, whether in a woodburning stove or outdoor firepit, using a KindleFlamer:
- Simply place ONE KindleFlamer in the ridge of two ‘Ready to Burn’ kiln-dried logs
- Place another log on top (allowing sufficient airflow)
- Light the KindleFlamer
- Add more logs once the fire is established
Charcoal BBQs:
Here’s how to use a KindleFlamer in a charcoal BBQ:
- Place ONE KindleFlamer on a bed of charcoal
- Cover the firelighter with charcoal (allowing sufficient airflow)
- Light the KindleFlamer
- Wait until the charcoal turns grey, and get grilling!
