Step One:
Start a fire in the fire pit. We recommend cooking with our Grill & Chill logs as they are specially selected species ensuring consistency and high levels of heat output. Simply place one of our KindleFlamers between two logs and light. Once going, place a few more logs on top, making sure to keep them at an angle to ensure sufficient airflow. If making your own wraps, prepare the dough as you can then make the beef filling whilst the dough is resting (15 minutes).
Step Two
Prepare the ingredients. Crush the garlic, chop the onions and measure out the spices. Pour enough oil to cover the base of your skillet and let it heat up on the firepit.
Step Three
Add the onions and let them fry until golden brown. Add mince and let brown. This should be quite quick if your fire is hot so after a couple of minutes add the spices, garlic, tomato puree, soy sauce, Worcester sauce, and Bay Tree Tomato & Caramelized Onion Chutney. Let cook for roughly 5-10 minutes, whilst continue to stir. You can add some water at this stage if you want to cook your mince further to stop it from burning but you will notice the meat cooking much quicker on a wood fire than on a traditional hob so may not need to add any.
Step Four
Whilst this is cooking, cook up the tortilla wraps. We made our own as they are surprisingly simple to make, however, store-bought wraps will also suffice. You can check out the recipe for the tortilla wraps here.
Step Five:
Now it's time for the part you've been waiting for, eating! Carefully remove your meat from the heat and start serving straight away. We paired our tacos with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, chutney, and cheddar cheese, but this can be adjusted as per personal preference. We also added some more Bay Tree chutney into ours as it’s absolutely delicious! Enjoy!
