Medium Kiln Dried Ash & Birch Crate (Double Stack)

Our ash and birch crate combination offers the perfect balance of performance and convenience, bringing together two of the most popular firewood species in one cost-effective delivery. Hand-stacked with 100% premium ash and birch hardwood logs, this double stack (one medium ash crate & one medium birch crate) gives you the best of both: birch for quick, bright ignition and ash for a longer-lasting, steady heat output.

Kiln dried to below 20% moisture content, both log types provide a clean, efficient burn with minimal smoke and excellent heat. This makes them ideal for woodburning stoves, open fires, pizza ovens and fire pits. The stacked crate format maximises space efficiency while maintaining the same high-quality, hand-stacked presentation, making it a practical solution for households looking to stock up without compromising on storage.

 

STORAGE

All our crates are delivered wrapped and topped with a polythene cover, protecting the carefully kiln dried logs from the elements. Once unpacked, store under cover in a dry space with good airflow. The logs can also remain in the crate without compromising quality.

Both the ash and birch logs are kiln dried below 20% moisture and Ready to Burn certified, the standard applied across all our crates regardless of species mix. This ensures a clean burn with minimal smoke and creosote build-up from either wood in the crate.

How should I store this crate so the logs stay dry?

Keep the crate undercover, since its open slatted sides provide airflow but not full weather protection on their own in exposed spots. A car port, garage, or a tarp over the crate will keep the logs dry and holding their moisture spec until you're ready to burn them, rather than letting rain gradually work its way in from the open front over time.

What's the delivery lead time, and is delivery free?

This crate is delivered on a pallet by our national carrier, typically within 3-5 working days, and qualifies for free UK mainland delivery as a bulk order. As with our other crates, ensure clear, level access for the delivery vehicle when booking your delivery slot, particularly if your property has a gravel drive, a slope, or restricted turning space for a lorry.
