Our luxurious Medium Birch & Oak Crate is ideal for customers who enjoy the comfort of a real fire on a less frequent basis. Neatly hand-stacked with premium kiln-dried oak and silver birch logs, this crate offers a convenient and high-quality solution in a compact format. The combination of birch and oak provides excellent firelighting properties, birch lights quickly to get your fire going, while the denser oak delivers a longer-lasting, hotter burn that sustains the warmth. The logs are carefully dried to below 20% moisture content, ensuring a clean and consistent burn with minimal smoke, making this crate suitable for wood burners, open fires, and outdoor fire pits. Its smaller size is perfect for homes with limited storage space or for those who only light fires occasionally, such as on weekends or cooler evenings.

 

STORAGE

Under cover, in a dry space with good airflow, the logs can also remain in the crate without compromising quality.

Please note, if you have ordered an XL crate, this will now be delivered on a large vehicle with a tail lift, even if it was previously delivered with a small vehicle.

What log size and crate size does Kiln Dried Birch & Oak Crate offer?

Choose 25cm or 35cm logs, and Medium (1.42m³), Large (2.29m³) or Extra Large (3.08m³) crate sizes depending on your stove and how much you burn through. The 25cm option suits most modern stoves, while 35cm suits larger stoves and open fires (only available in medium or large sizes). This mix of birch (15-17 MJ/kg, quick-lighting) and oak (18-20 MJ/kg, long-burning) gives a practical balance between easy lighting and sustained heat through a long evening. What's the moisture content of the logs in this crate?

Both birch and oak logs in this crate are kiln dried below 20% moisture and Ready to Burn certified, the standard applied across our full crate range. This ensures efficient combustion and minimal smoke regardless of which log you pick up from the crate, and means the mixed-species format doesn't come with any compromise on drying quality or certification standard. Does the crate itself provide dry storage for the logs?

The crate's open, slatted sides give airflow, so keep it undercover, under a car port, in a garage, or beneath a cover in exposed spots, to stop the logs reabsorbing moisture from rain. This means the crate itself can double as your storage solution rather than needing to decant logs elsewhere after delivery, saving you buying a separate log store. How is this crate delivered, and how long will it take to arrive?

This crate is delivered on a pallet by our national carrier, typically within 3-5 working days, and qualifies for free UK mainland delivery as a bulk order. Ensure clear, level access for the delivery vehicle, and be present if possible in case the driver needs guidance on positioning it safely on a slope, gravel drive, or otherwise tight access point.
